I’m just trying to give album recommendations that I never see people talk about...*cough cough*...not in any specific order
Me-Empress of

An electro-pop album that should have gotten more attention. Using an almost hazy and dreamy style that has and still continues to be in her music. With heavy pop inducing synths and drum-pad type production the album is something to experience. With Empress’ soft and airy vocals she doesn’t strive to be the best vocalist but uses simple to her advantage. With for the most part having very simple imaginative phrases and simple lyrics she still is able to paint a picture in the minds of anyone who happens to listen. There isn’t a song that I skip when listening to this album as it’s an overall amazing album that I would suggest to anyone who is trying to find an electro/alternative pop album.
Soft Sounds From Another Planet-Japanese Breakfast

A dream-pop album that was a outlet on grief in the wake of her mother’s death from cancer, as well as a raw portrayal of sexuality and heartache. Although I’ve heard these two things (death and sex) be put together countless times before it’s different here because of Zauner’s gift for connecting specific details to simple metaphor and having it be uniquely affecting. Using guitars, drums and a melancholic arrangement to discuss life on earth. This being her most clear and cohesive album to date it’s definitely worth listening to at least once.
antisocialites-Alvvays

An indie-pop/rock release this one holds a place deep in my heart. This album is not perfect but it does what it needs and a little more. With meaningful lyrics and great vocals from the front woman Molly Rankin. Her voice always gives me this melancholic and nostalgic feeling...actually different emotions honestly. With great production you would associate with the indie genre you got your guitars, bass, drums, and sometimes a synth or two to add a little spice per say.
Loveworm-beabadoobee

This album first listen was another experience that I am glad that happened not saying it’s my favorite album of all time but I have had it on replay since it came out. Her simple lyrics and delivery help the listener be able to sit down and listen without having to over-thinking the project as a whole. This album is simple not to where there was no effort but simple to that it works in its favor. It didn’t have to be crazy and out-going because it would bring this piece of art down. I almost want to call this one of my favorite albums of this year so far... no I am going to call this one of my favorite albums of this year. Please if you like bedroom pop, indie, Lo-Fi check this out I’m sure you’ll also fall in love with this album as I did.
Jinx-crumb

This album is made to make you think...not overthink but to think. This psych-rock band Crumb gives shape to the ambivalence and hypnosis of those lulling spirals, bending indie rock and jazz influences to shape a clear-eyed perspective tinted amber with dirt. Beckoning the listener with dreamy keyboards, twinkling guitar, and a recognizable buzz of stoic anxiety, Jinx rewards with the promise that within the dizzying haze are moments, turns in direction, worth waking up to. It should be a crime to have an album be this calm and soothing...one you can really just listen to and like I said before think.
Lost En Los Angeles-Kari Faux

This is a hidden gem...Kari Faux herself as a whole is a hidden gem. If there is a female rapper that I had to listen to for eternity it would be her. This album displays her talents and even if this may not per say be your style of rap it is undeniable that this album is great. Her songs are bops beyond chill but will having your head bumping. With colorful production and and Kari’s flow it is no wonder why the album is so great. Although not having too much experience when releasing this project trust me when I say after listening to this you’ll want to check out the rest of her discography.
SOLOS-Lil Bo Weep

This one is not hard to describe just I guess difficult to get the words out. This album takes elements from the emo genre but Weep actually has her own lane. Not many people know of her which is a shame because her music gives a sense of actual emotions and heavy thoughts. With the use of calm trap, guitar, and just a variety of production. Her songwriting skills are pretty simple but I feel like that’s done for a reason because sometimes it just helps build the themes and feelings of the songs. Heartbreak, depression, and just pure moments of arrogance.
Numbers-MellowHype

This album has its flaws and I mean quite a few. Hodgy Beats and Left Brain from Odd Future come together to make a decent album though it did go under the radar but I feel that some of the tracks are worth a listen.
Love Delux-Meltycanon

Dreamy as can be and clearer than ever before, this project is a perfect example of the ways in which melty has grown as a solo act, refining and developing his sound to a point of effortless allure. All throughout Love Deluxe, the budding talent’s deliveries seem to drift alongside the instrumental, defying gravity with an enthralling weightlessness that transcends words. The impassioned lyrics seemingly wash over these deliveries, and adding the cherry on top, the way that melty switches between flows to match and refresh each instrumental is a simple yet deeply effective touch.
Oncle Jazz-Men I Trust

If you look in the dictionary and go to the word calming...you’ll find this bands name. I’ve waited for this release for a long time before it came out and when I first listened to it I was in complete aww. The production included all live instrument recordings from the band. Drums, bass, guitar, piano, and vocals from Emma. To this day there is no voice that can soothe and bring me to peace like Emma’s voice. The world could be ending and I wouldn’t give a ish if I could hear her voice while it occurred. Though the album has no set concept or complete idea It’s trying to covey every song says something you just have to be willing to listen. From things such as love, going somewhere new, and just feeling numbness. Every word that is said on this album is used to say or make you feel something and the band does a great good with their writing simple and effective.
melanchole-Salvia Plath

Somedays I come back to this project and feel a great nostalgic feeling. I’m always hopping one day he’ll just release another album or even just one more song. This project literally got me through hell. With his calm vocals you can hear the sadness drip off his voice and that in itself is a good enough reason why this project is so good. Although he didn’t reach a big audience there is a little cult following behind the album. The production is so airy and dreamy it almost paints a vivid dream. Dripping with an atmosphere like no other this is a LoFi/bedroom pop record for the decade one of the best if not the best.
Candle glow-Sophie Meiers

Candle Glow is beautiful and perfect for the fall/winter vibe. Containing a light and elegant feel to the tracks. Prancing through genres like bedroom-pop, R&B, and indie. If you’ve listened to Kali Uchis older music her voice kinda reminds me of that but there are differences. But since were here her other album broken clinic is also good being about depression and mental health being the polar opposite of this album but both are really smooth listens.
WILLOW-WILLOW

her brand of psychedelic soul and blurry dream-pop can be so atmospheric it’s as if it’s trapped in the astral plane. Her self-titled album can be pretty in a tuned-out sort of way, if you let it wash over you like a gentle current of #vibes. With a more mature outlook on her recent projects it makes her music just that more enjoyable. This album is philosophical in a sense or that was what she was going for and she may not have hit the mark directly I feel with more time her music can be more on point in her career. With very airy production containing guitar, piano and bass. A project dropped this year and I feel is one of the best of this year.
Flyleaf-Flyleaf

with amazingly blended guitar work from members Sameer Bhattacharya and Jared Harmann, as well as smooth bass work from Pat Seals and heavy drum rhythms from James Culpepper, Flyleaf has crafted a debut effort that has proven to be a step higher from their accomplishments with their EP from the year before this release. While it may not have been the most innovative thing it is still a good release to check out by this soft rock band. Ising their female lead Lacey Sturm vocals for good use never sounding forced or just bad. Being one of the best female leads when talking about rock bands.
Spent Passions 2- 18 Carat Affair

After years of producing vapor-wave music he still keeps things fresh...with this being his newest addition to his discography it’s nothing to be disappointed by. Still finding ways to keep the vapor wave genre new and innovative so that people who love vapor-wave have something to come back to every time.

😌😌😌...so you’ve made it to the end sorry if if I didn’t explain any album or artist in good enough detail...just some quick suggestions considering a lot of good albums get overshadowed by their more mainstream counterparts and I just wanted to put their names out their with hopes that someone will check them out.
